Power to the People FAQ - Part 1
- PTP and
other routines:
Can I apply the techniques in Power to the People to other workouts?
-
PTP
Deadlift:
Do you follow the 3-5 second rule on the lifting phase of
the deadlift?
-
PTP book
or video? and Kettlebell book or video?:
I'm just about ready to
invest in the 'Power to the People' and plan on working out with homemade
kettlebells... should I order the PTP book or video? And should I get the "Russian
Kettlebell Challenge' book or video as well?
-
PTP for
Pushups:
Will Power to the People work with endurance exercises like
pushups?
- How to mix PTP and
Kettlebell workouts for a beginner:
I am forty, out of
shape, and have just started the "Power to the People"
program ( great book, by the way). I have ordered the kettlebell book
and video. How and when should I incorporate Kettlebells into my
workout?
My goals are to become strong, fit, and trim.
-
PTP and
ABS:
To be safe I should master the tension techniques and develop my
abs before trying to lift heavy. Does that mean I should develop my abs with the
tension techniques and lighter weight? Or are additional exercises such as Janda
situps necessary for safety during lifting?
-
Getting
started: PTP Book or Video?:
I'm really intrigued with Pavel's stuff
after reading him in Muscle Media. I want to get started on his program but I've
got to decide between the book or video. Any opinions?

PTP For
The Easily Injured:
What would be better for me to do first: Develop
endurance with bodyweight exercises or use the Power to the People program? I
have the PTP tape and am still working on muscular tension before I start the
actual program. I just want to be sure I understand tension so I don't get hurt.
-
PTP for
endurance activities:
I'm in the middle of my cycling (biking)
season. I am currently doing 2 Power to the People workouts. Will maintaining my
max strength increase my performance more than high reps for muscular endurance?
-
PTP for
us old guys:
Any advice from Pavel on extra precautions for us half
century old guys? I really like the concepts of PTP and am looking forward to
getting started.
-
Bear,
PTP, running, and abs:
I want to gain some muscle mass and can afford
to be a little sore in my upper body, but being a US Marine we run a lot (even
though i hate it). so it is essential that my legs be fresh for these runs, but
i figure i can still do some Power to the People squats and deadlifts at least
twice a week. Can you mix Bear (mass building) and PTP in the same cycles?
