  • Kettlebells deliver fat loss, cardio gains:
    Insix weeks of training with kettlebells as my primary exercise, I lost 1.5inches off my waist and stayed the same weight, so I lost fat and replaced itwith muscle. My resting heart rate went from 60 to 52. It had been stuck at 60for years regardless of whatever sort of cardio training I did.

  • Muscles worked inkettlebell snatch?:
    Could you please list the muscles that are workedby the kettlebell snatch? Is it truly a total body workout? I know that the backand shoulders are hit hard but do they work the arms and legs adequately?

    I did a 2 week cycle of PTP andhad NO back problems, even though I suffer from chronic lower back pain (whichI've whined about here previously). I used what I believe to be very good form,holding my breath through the movement. The thing is I'm only up to about 215lbsmax on the DL, and I'm thinking that is an indication that my back may still betoo weak for ballistic kettlebell movements.

Or less sore thankettlebells will make them if used less frequently?

    Asper Pavel's advice, I eased into kettlebell work: 2X10 two hand swings, 2X10 onehand swings on each side, 2X6 cleans on each side, 2X4 bent press each side,along with ladders of chins and pistols. Plenty of rest between sets, but evenso my heart rate was up, and I have all the more respect for those comrades whomanhandle heavy bells. I very much intend to join them. It felt very differentfrom other exercises I've done.

    I'dmuch rather do kettlebell workouts than aerobics, but I've read that circuitweight training is much less effective in improving cardiovascular health thanactivities like running, etc. I've never quite understood why that would be, butwhat's your opinion?
